1. Introduction

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Old Hurst Johnian Golfing Society website (“the Website”). The Website is operated by the Old Hurst Johnian Golfing Society (“OHJGS”, “the Society”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a golfing society for former pupils of Hurstpierpoint College.

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Website.

2. Who May Use the Website

Access to the full functionality of the Website, including member profiles and match entry, is restricted to current members of the OHJGS. To access these features you must register and log in using your member credentials.

Any public-facing areas of the Website may be viewed without registration, but you must not attempt to access restricted areas without authorisation.

3. Member Accounts

Registration

To access member-only areas of the Website you are required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep your account details up to date.

Credentials

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that takes place under your account. You must not share your login details with any other person. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact the Secretary immediately.

Account Termination

The Society reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms of Use or if your membership of the Society lapses or is terminated.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Website you agree that you will:

  • Use the Website only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with the aims and values of the Society
  • Treat other members’ information and profiles with respect and discretion
  • Only use other members’ contact details for purposes related to the Society
  • Keep your own profile information accurate and up to date
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations when using the Website

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the Website to harass, intimidate or harm any other member or person
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website or its underlying systems
  • Use automated tools, bots or scrapers to extract data from the Website
  • Upload or transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive or otherwise objectionable
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Website or its servers
  • Share, publish or otherwise disclose other members’ personal information outside of the Society

5. Member Profiles and Personal Information

Your member profile is visible to other logged-in members of the Society. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide in your profile. You can view, update and delete your profile information at any time via the Website.

If you wish to have your information removed from the Website entirely, you may submit a request to the Secretary. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details of how we handle your personal information.

6. Match Entry and Payments

The Website allows members to enter Society matches and meetings and to make payments in connection with those events. By entering a match or meeting through the Website you agree to pay any applicable entry fee.

If you need to withdraw from a match or meeting after entering, please contact the Secretary as soon as possible. Refund eligibility will be at the discretion of the Society committee and will depend on the circumstances and the timing of your withdrawal.

The Society takes reasonable steps to ensure that payment processing on the Website is secure. However, we are not liable for any losses arising from unauthorised use of your payment details where you have failed to keep your account credentials confidential.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website, including text, images, logos and design, is owned by or licensed to the OHJGS and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or otherwise use any content from the Website without the prior written permission of the Society, except for your own personal, non-commercial use in connection with your membership.

8. Links to Other Websites

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, for example golf clubs or Hurstpierpoint College. These links are provided for convenience only. The Society has no control over the content of those websites and accepts no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties
